New Toolkit to Help Young Farmers and Fishers Improve Work Health & Safety
Young Farmer Business Program Team Leader, Alexandra Hicks said the informative and practical resources provide a starting point for young producers to begin to implement a WHS management system in their business.
“The toolkit includes videos and factsheets, created specifically for young farmers and fishers. The toolkit also links to existing industry templates developed by AgHealth Australia that young producers can download and use in their businesses,” said Ms Hicks.
“The induction, emergency planning and safety training templates are designed to be edited, which enables the producer to make the content relevant to their own business before sharing with staff and contractors.”
Young producers visiting the program’s website can learn more about employee and contractor WHS inductions, emergency planning, safety training and competency as well as the key steps involved in risk management and roles and responsibilities under WHS legislation.
The resources have been created in conjunction with Rebecca Fing, from House Paddock Training & Consultancy.
“We worked with WHS expert, Rebecca Fing, to develop a series of short videos which make a complicated subject like WHS easier to understand. Bec gives you confidence with WHS and clearly explains how to start using these tools in your business,” said Ms Hicks.
“For over 15 years, Rebecca has been helping industry groups, regional businesses and individuals to manage risk, meet compliance requirements and get the best of their businesses, work and lives.”
